A downloadable game for Windows

This is our entry for the AI Generated Jam #2: Lost Worlds of 2023. The main theme was Lost Worlds and the additional requirement was environmental storytelling

Play as a cat and explore (and escape from) an abandoned ancient temple while navigating through numerous entries left from Liquid Spark researchers. The flow of the game is guided by pressure plates that may open or reset doors. Furthermore, animation, assets and scene composition are used to guide the eye of the player (or at least we tried to use them this way).

Everything you see or hear is made from scratch by us: from 3d models to textures, from background music to code. We hope you enjoy this :)

Developers

cat.astrothoozee.

Softwares

Godot 4.0.1, Blender 3.3.4, GIMP 2.10.

How to play

  • WASD for movement in the Lost World
  • E for picking objects in the scene.
  • SPACE for jump-but it's only an animation that won't do much more. But HEY! At least it can jump. :)
  • TAB for the entry menu.
  • ESC for the pause menu with additional settings.

Notes

Since the world had to be immersive, we thought that we should focus more on the assets this time around. Since this is a 3D game and uses a lot of heavy stuff (shaders and rigged cat to name a few), and since it is not as optimized as we would have liked, we will release only the Windows build.

If requested, we may consider adding a MacOS build ;)

We uploaded version 1.1, which includes better mouse sensitivity and improved pad UI, plus additional hints. However, we decided to keep the original build (version 1.0) for the whole duration of the game jam.

I liked the game but I got stuck at the first door. The jumping had no function for me and I couldn't turn around without turning the sensitivity up. Also, one thing that stands out to me is that the mouse isn't hidden.  Not looking up sucks a little. I do like the handmade textures.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Jumping is just an animation and has no use in-game. Unfortunately, we had a very limited amount of time to make everything for the game jam so we decided not to fix the animation.

To pass the first door, you have to step on the pressure plate (it is darker than the others).

You can change the mouse sensitivity, the player speed and the volume by pressing ESC and clicking Options.

You can pick up the “data sticks” (i.e. the light blue and orange devices) that you find around.

Please let us know if this piece of additional information helped you leave the first area.

Thanks again for the feedback :)
