Meet Bob. Who's Bob? You are Bob! Or—you get to play as Bob, the poor bird that unfortunately fell from its nest and into a river due to the rain.

You must navigate the current without taking too many hits. Otherwise your poor leaf will get too soggy and you'll get acquainted to the bottom of the river. Don't worry: no bird was mistreated for this game!

This game is a 2D endless run with no text in it. It was designed and lovely crafted in about 9 days. Everything you see, play or hear was made by us from scratch during the Godot Wild Jam #58's time period: the graphics, the code, even the rain recording! The only two audio from third part are credited below in this page.

Controls

Everything you need to play this game is a mouse.

With the Left Mouse Button, click and drag to create wind above the river surface. The direction of dragging will decide how the wind blows. When the poor bird moves across the wind area, it will be pushed and gently blown away
Be warned, though: wind is a precious, limited resource, so don't waste it! If you run out of it, you'll need to wait until it gets replenished with time.

Optionally, you can press the TAB/ESC keyboard buttons to toggle the pause menu. We opted to offer two options since the exited the full screen with ESC.

But we chose Rain. We also selected the following wildcards:

No text was used in this game! Every concept or word is conveyed through images and icons - or at least, we tried :)
You also have the *Wind Power*, letting you interact with the world and blowing things away!

Meet the Team

We are cat.astro and Thoozee! We're both developers (more or less) with a passion for nice little projects, especially software projects... Sometimes, when GameDev calls, we improvise as graphics artists and musicians, with dubious results :P

Software Used

To develop the game, we used Godot 4.0.3, Krita 5.0.2, Audacity 3.3.3.

Known Problems

Due to Godot 4 Web export problems on some platforms,  some platform may experience problems.

We tested on macOS 13.4 e Windows 11 to give you a better experience:

  • macOS 13.4 + Safari -> nope.
  • macOS 13.4 + Chrome -> It works. The game takes a (long) while to load.
  • Windows 11 + Chrome -> It works as intended. Load time are not as dreadful as on macOS.
  • Windows 11 + Edge ->  It works as intended. Load time are not as dreadful as on macOS.
